"Sime Darby closed at RM7.70 per share yesterday, falling one sen from the opening price. It has lost nearly some RM6 billion in market capitalisation since news of its troubles became public last May 13."
The party that actually suffer the loss in market capitalisation is the investor, not the company in which the investors invest. This type of reporting is almost a practice in the media. The reports should not say 'it' but to replace it with 'the investors'.
